As a Wim Hof instructor we are well trained.
We train to understand the physiological effects of the breathing and cold exposure on our participants.
We train to understand the mental and emotional release that can occur during the life-changing workshops we run.
We train to know when we can push a little harder or throttle back if someone is displaying early symptoms of the effects of the powerful breathwork or challenging cold exposure.
What we teach is life-changing, it releases pent up emotions, it connects you to your true self and shows you that you are capable of so much more than you ever thought possible. It has a multitude of benefits to our cardio-vascular system, our immune system, our mental well-being, our capacity to cope with everyday stresses.
For someone like me, who truly believes this method saved my life and is still keeping me believing in a future that is bright and long, to realize I’ve missed something, something really...

Becoming a Level 2 Wim Hof Instructor may not have meant studying science and physiology for 7 months straight as I did at Level 1 but it was no walk in the park.
To be able to qualify you must have run at least 10 Official Fundamentals Workshops, have over 10 testimonials and an average of 5 Stars (the top score), to be knowledgeable about advanced breathing techniques, understand and learn how to plan and guide safe winter travels and to be familiar with all of the new clinical studies that are complete or in the works.
I ran 11 workshops in total, I have 20 testimonials that are so touching and empowering, they make me cry when I read them (all 5 stars)- I invite you to go see what people are saying about my workshops – use this link. I completed the Power Of The Mind, which is an incredible course, maybe the best I have done to date and...

What a Year!
How on earth did I get here? To this point in my life at this time in my life?
Finally I know what I want to be when I grow up.
I came to Bulgaria to stop working and start living, quite simply because my Mum died at the age of 48 and I figured that if I was still alive at that point, I should start enjoying what time I had left… so that’s what I set out to do.
To become more self-reliant was my aim and I thought that meant growing my own food, exploring different options for power and water, getting some chickens, learning to keep bees, exchanging skills and produce with other like-minded individuals… but the universe had other ideas.
It turns out I’m pretty average (if not a bit shit) at growing my own food, preserving it, saving seeds etc. and it also came to my attention that anything I actually managed to grow (in excess...

Everything I had worked so hard for was about to be laid out in front of a paying audience.
Was I nervous? Not even a little. This is what I’d been waiting for, this is what I’d prepared for, so the fact that it was now happening, and that people were actually coming, did not phase me in the least.
Was I excited? Hell yeah. I couldn’t wait to create and feel the energy of the group. To push people outside their comfort zones and watch them succeed. The transformations are just the best thing ever.
Was I stressed? I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t. The whole ethos around my workshops is that it is held outside in nature. The breathing is done on a purpose-built platform in the walnut trees, where you can feel the music through the floor, you can smell and hear the natural world around you. This is a vital part of my...

Becoming a Wim Hof Instructor is hard, it takes commitment, belief and courage to follow through with every part of the journey. The method is not something you just do, it becomes who you are, but lets take a step back a minute.
If you are on social media, you may have noticed the ads that come up for becoming a coach of some sort. From life coach, to fitness coach, to yoga instructor. These professions are important, yet I frequently come across companies offering these to people for $7 or to qualify in just 3 hours online. I cannot honestly believe that you can learn all that you need to know, in a way that allows you to help your clients in such a short period of time for whatever the price.
The health and wellness industry is enormous and I understand that not everyone can afford to invest in real, good quality programs that provide a substantial syllabus...

I have just achieved a pivotal milestone in my life.
But this post is not about me, it’s about those other than myself that made all this possible….
You see, I fell in love on my Master Module.
I don’t mean superficial lust or desire but deep, deep, emotional, connected kinda love.
And not just with one person, with many. So I’m going to start by embarrassing some of them that made this journey such a fucking blast.
Michelle – All The Love
Something inside me just glowed when she was around. With just a nod in your direction you knew she was about to introduce you to the world, yet it wasn’t scary, it was empowering. She was there to support you if you stumbled and there to hold your hands high in victory.
“Sit at the front and volunteer for everything.” She told me…I don’t think she thought I’d take it so literally….I put my hand up for absolutely everything. But being the great leader she was, she...

Feeling is Believing (Wim Hof)
Isn’t it strange how we associate words with feelings! When we talk about ‘games’ we think of fun, laughter, competition, success and failure, but all in the name of having a good time. However as soon as we put the word ‘mind’ in front, it immediately takes on a negative connotation.
But I’m not talking about the type of Mind Games where you manipulate another person into doing your dirty work (although I have some dusting that needs doing if there are any volunteers) :)…but rather a game you can play with yourself to better cope in everyday life.
In the syllabus to become a Wim Hof Method instructor it states, if you can learn how to use your mind anything is possible, and I truly believe that regular practice of what we teach can literally change everything you thought was possible.
During this journey I have met and become friends with those fighting addiction, pain, self-limiting...

Wild Dipping with a Group on one of my training Workshops
Cold exposure is becoming more and more popular as people are becoming more aware of the benefits of this activity. With popularity, however, comes abandon, ego, competition, challenges and social media pressure.
The Wim Hof Method promotes gradual cold exposure and any instructor will tell you that anything sub 15C for around 2 mins will give you all of the available benefits but that you always need to listen to your body.
Serious cold exposure that you may see myself or other instructors doing in their spare time, or during their workshops is always controlled. There is a protocol and we follow it for a reason. The cold (as Wim would say) is our teacher, there are some amazing things to be learnt about yourself, your body, your mind and your capabilities by getting it right, but also some hard and valuable lessons to be learnt in getting it wrong.
So...

Breath Deep to your Soul
Breathing, we all do it! We all know what would happen if we didn’t, yet how many of us focus consciously on our breathing? How many of us are even aware of our breath? I would bet my bottom dollar that most of us go through life just letting it happen to us… roughly 20,000 times a day.
This is the beauty of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). This controls all the bodily functions that keep us alive: breathing, cardio-vascular system, heartbeat, digestion, waste removal, to name a few.
These things happen to us, within us, every day and when they stop working even for a short period of time, we feel it, we become sick, bloated, unable to sleep, overwhelmed etc…
What if I told you that you can control your ANS?
There are two arms to the ANS, the Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) and the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS). Now before you switch off, let me...
Cold Exposure
Hello my wonderful friends and followers! I wanted to write this to give a little insight into The Wim Hof Method and Me and show you some of the things we are doing.
As I explained in my It’s A Fine Line blog, I started doing The Wim Hof Method to work on getting back to being happy, healthy and strong. It works on three main pillars: Breathwork, Cold Exposure and MindSet.
I started with cold showers, nothing too mad, just taking a normal shower then flicking the temp all the way off for the last 10 secs. Progressing over the weeks until I was doing 5-6 minute ones. Starting with a cold shower rather than a warm one and loving the feeling it gave me.
It was a mix of feelings really. Physically it took away my pain, reduced inflammation, but mentally was the most surprising. It made me feel elated, accomplished, like I’d taken on a major force and beaten it in...
