Well, well, well. Look who finally dusted off the old blog keyboard! It’s me, your long-lost friend from TurningSimpleDifficult emerging from the abyss of busyness, breathing exercises, and a whole lot of ice baths.

Level 2 Patch - Souvenir

For those who have been wondering why I dropped off the face of the digital world, let me bring you up to speed. I’ve spent the past three years training and teaching the Wim Hof Method (WHM), as well as becoming a level 2 instructor, and, quite frankly, dealing with some health challenges that landed me in this icy wonderland in the first place.

But, after much soul-searching (and possibly a few expletives), I’ve decided that this year, I will NOT be renewing my WHM certification. Gasp! Yes, I know, scandalous. The truth is, as much as I love the method and all its benefits, I need to focus on my own health and well-being. So, what does that mean? Well, unsurprisingly, I’ll still be using the WHM to get myself back to full strength, just without the added pressure of teaching it.

And if you think I’ll be putting my feet up, sipping cocktails, and relaxing, you clearly haven’t met me. Instead, I’ve got a rather ridiculous list of things to tackle, starting with training for Walk4Wild – the 650-kilometre trek across Bulgaria’s Stara Planina mountains. That’s right, I’ve decided that the best way to regain my health is to hike the length of a mountain range. Logical, right?

But wait, there’s more! The never-ending house renovations are still, well, never-ending. Turns out, houses don’t just fix themselves (rude). Then there’s the garden – currently more of a chaotic jungle than a tranquil retreat – which needs serious attention if we ever want to actually enjoy it.

Let’s not forget the yard, which, once cleared, will finally give Dan the space he needs for his ever-growing collection of engine-powered toys. And then there’s Shelby, our four-legged adventurer, who will no doubt be joining us as we explore Bulgaria in our vans this year. Because why settle for one challenge when you can have several?

So, there you have it. I’m still here, still breathing (sometimes through gritted teeth), and still making simple things difficult in the best possible way. Stay tuned for more updates – I promise not to disappear for quite as long this time. Probably.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a mountain range to prepare for and a garden to wrestle into submission. Wish me luck!
